It's an election year. Let the gay bashing begin...

00:51:

It's a presidential election year--no better time for your favorite Reactionary Republicans¯ to begin picking on their favorite cause-to-hate, equal rights for gays and lesbians. Today's target? Federal employees who may feel workplace discrimination:

It makes my eyes mist over

20:57: I met David for the first time about three years ago, after having been an avid reader of his website for many more years and after maintained an email based friendship. David's ability to write about both the profound and the mundane with sharp wit and pith, and his almost compulsive journaling habit going back to his early teenage years served as much of the inspiration behind Saddlesores. I even stole some of his design ideas for other sites I've written.

A few months after meeting him, I read of David's falling in love with Mark, a man from Fresno, CA with an equally powerful ability to state and defend his opinions. I had a chance to meet the man that took David's heart last July when I was out in San Francisco for a tradeshow.

I wholeheartedly endorsed Mark after having met him.

Which makes seeing the video of Mark and David's wedding last Monday in San Francisco all the more special to me.

Wedding congratulations...

19:16: ... to David and Mark for being one of the few hundreds lucky enough to be in wonderful love and able to receive a piece of San Francisco City letterhead that recognizes their relationship.

While I have no doubts that their marriage-in-fact will last many years, I hope above all hopes that their marriage-in-law will not be declared null and void. Every time I hear some new someone-or-other talking about the sanctity of marriage being violated if two people of the same sex get to call it that, I want to grab a back issue of the Star that talks about Britney's wedding-cum-joke, roll it up, and smack the someone-or-other in the nose, yelling "bad reactionary, bad reactionary".

Now to make good on the promise of the His and His tiki glasses...
